Reduced Price Leather Jacket

Reduced Price Leather Jacket processing can be a very strenuous task from the selection process onward.  There are at least 13 separate stages that a hide will go through. It requires people who are professionally trained in tanning, shaving, trimming, buffing, and stitching.  Pakistan has easily gotten a foothold in this bustling and very competitive industry, and truly does hold its own in the crafting of leather jackets, leather chaps, motorcycle leather jackets, and a variety of other leather goods.

Hides for making reduced cost leather jackets are generally taken from what is left over from the meat industry.  Hides that are removed from animals are quickly refrigerated, packed in barrels of brine, or salted.  From there it is sent off to a tannery where it begins a series of processes that will soften and preserve the hides.

Pakistan has around 600 tanneries in its formal sector, holding as many tanneries in the informal sector of the trade as well.   The tanneries use what is called the Chrome tanning method.  They also use a vegetable tanning method, or apply both at times.

Processing of leather incorporates several different steps where a large amount of chemicals and water are used on the hides.  Around 130 different chemical types are utilized in the processing of leather goods.

The chemical processes are categorized under four areas:  pre-tanning chemicals, tanning chemicals, wet finishing chemicals and finishing chemicals.   It has been noted that Pakistan tanneries are looking for more environmentally friendly ways for producing their quality leather jackets.

Leather goods from Pakistan are known to be the second best in the world.  Their largest market is in Lahore, where leather from all over their country arrives.   Aside from selling leather jackets, leather chaps, and motorcycle jackets, Pakistan also sells processed and semi processed hides to other countries.  This has given them a very strong foothold in the international leather market industry.  Pakistan also crafts high quality leather gloves, footwear, handbags, belts, and briefcases.

In the past, leather processing was done manually and could take a very long time.  But Pakistan leather makers now have better equipment which has helped to speed up the processing of hides.  The care and attention that goes into each piece is evident, from the skinning process all the way to the finished product bought by customers. By purchasing a leather garment from Pakistan, you can be assured of a durable, high quality reduced cost leather jacket that will last a very long time.
